A general common fixed point theorem of Meir and Keeler type for weakly compatible mappings

In this paper, using a combination method used in [3], [20] and [22], the result of [16, Theorem 1] is improved by removing the assumption of continuity, relaxing compatibility to weakly compatibility property and replacing the completeness of the space with a set of four alternative conditions for functions satisfying an implicit relation.
